Current Kindergarten News: Week 35 - April 26th-30th
This week’s unit will be the ocean. Two art projects will be a crab TLC and a sea horse water color. We also have an ocean word search and a Rainbow Fish literacy activity. Some of our related literature is Mr. Sea horse, I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean, Swimmy, Big Al, Three Little Fish and the Big Bad Shark and Shark in the Dark and the poem “Seashell Seashell”.
Phonics and Handwriting this week will be the letter “Zz” with “Zz” picture cards and sentences.
High Frequency Words (HFW) for the week are after, zoo and say. The Word Wall Wizard words are for, said, here, up, and to. The word family for the week is the “oat” family.
In math, we will continue subtraction activities.
Science lessons this week will continue with the brine shrimp.
Special Notes: On Tuesday, April 27th we have a field trip for the students to the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro. If the students are on the meal plan they will have a boxed lunch from the school, if they are not on the meal plan they should bring a sack lunch and drink in a disposable container. They should wear their tie-dye spirit shirts with jeans or shorts and tennis shoes.
On Thursday, April 29th we will be going to the Nashville Zoo and the parents (but no siblings please) are invited to join us. The lunch plan and the attire will be the same as for the Discovery Center. Please watch for information in the blue bags concerning this trip.
